Sea Oats

Sea Oats

C$4.95Price

Sea Oats are a wonderful perennial - tough yet so pretty.  Grass clumps have bamboo-like foliage and gorgeous seed panicles that dance in the wind.  Seed heads provide the prettiest texture to both the garden and the vase.  Foliage turns a bronze colour in the fall.  Low maintenance.  Beautiful.  Seed heads dry absolutely wonderfully too!

Approximately 30 seeds/pkt.

Please note: this seed requires cold stratification to ensure the best germination. The easiest way to do this is to sow in very late fall and allow nature to do the rest! Alternatively, you can surface sow (seed needs light to germinate) 8-10 weeks before your last frost date by placing your seed onto moist soil and gently pressing in. Cover with a humidity dome and place in fridge for 4 weeks to achieve stratification. Remove and bring in to warmth for germination and growth. Transplant out once acclimatized and hardened off after last frost.
